The lost boys- Santa Monica/Venice Beach

Our day started at the Ivy on the Shore for brunch, or by the time we made it, it was lunch. We were greeted by a fellow Brit, although when he found out about Zenobia's root. There were many unmasked comments and I sat back enjoying and avoiding any flak. The food was good,, but the dessert was heavenly and decadent.

We were later joined by Marcus, someone we met at the club teh night before. He kept us entertained with his stories and ended up staying a lot longer than intended. He then mentioned going to play b-ball out in courts in Venice Beach.

We were convinced to walk down to Venice Beach from Santa Monica pier. A walk that would have taken half an hour took a lot longer. It was hot and there were many distractions along the way.

The basketball courts did not disappoint. We were told that one team usually play week in week out, so they know each other strengths and weaknesses, and that they were all "showboating". The other team are a rag tag team of individuals and and are not expected to win. To be honest I wasn't paying attention to who was winning.

We headed to San Diego after that, but not before having dinner. Grace learnt very quickly that we do not survive if not fed at the right time. We quickly got off the highway 5 to go to a burger joint in a location I will never remember. Which is unfortunate as it was the best burger I have ever had, and in this holiday I had a lot!

We headed out in Gaslamp, San Diego after we arrived. As it was Labor Day weekend a lot of people were out, and we were also reminded that college also started that week. It reminded me of Leicester Square. We tried a few places, before calling it a night.
